2026 Tampa Redistricting Alternatives Survey

* 1. Every four years, Planning Commission staff reviews the population of Tampa's four single-member council districts. Typically, redistricting is required to make the districts’ population as equal as possible. Thus, the redistricting process ahead of the March 2027 municipal elections has formally begun. This process, including all required legal advertisements and public hearings, must be completed by April 1, 2026.

Four alternative scenarios for redistricting were prepared. Public outreach is scheduled to take place from September 2025 through February 2026, with Planning Commission action anticipated in March 2026. At the final hearing, results from this preference survey will be presented along with the staff recommendation.
