ARC stakeholder survey: your views on the use of AI in assessment

In July 2023, the ARC released its current Policy on Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence in the ARC’s grants programs. This policy bans the use of generative AI by assessors participating in the ARC's grant processes, and advises caution for applicants.

The ARC is now preparing to update its AI policy to account for developments in technology and AI adoption since the original policy was written, and we welcome input from the research community and interested stakeholders.

The following short survey contains five questions including three with open text responses. We are interested in any experiences you have had with AI use in a research assessment context. We are also interested in your view of the risks and benefits of using AI at any stage of research assessment.

The survey should take about three minutes. Thanks in advance for your time.

Your responses to this survey are completely anonymous. All information collected will be used solely to inform the Australian Research Council’s internal policy development work.

If you have any queries about the survey please email policyandstrategy@arc.gov.au
