Introduction and Background

Have Your Say

We value your thoughts and ideas as we work to enhance the West Beach Parks Sport and Recreation Precinct (which includes Barratt Reserve).

This survey is an opportunity for you to share your feedback on two master plan concept designs that have been developed to reflect the feedback and input from users of the precinct and the broader community. Your input will play a role in guiding future improvements, helping us create a vibrant, accessible, and enjoyable community space for all.

Context

The West Beach Parks Sport and Recreation Precinct forms part of the broader West Beach Parks precinct, which encompasses the Holiday Park, The Retreat, The Pat GC, Skate Park and Reserves, Marina, Road Safety Centre, and The Square at West Beach Parks. It also forms a key part of our overarching West Beach Parks Master Plan which aims to provide better access and connectivity across the entire West Beach Parks precinct. In turn, delivering long-term economic, social and environmental benefits to the wider community, and becoming a more desirable place to live, work and play.

West Beach Parks Sport and Recreation Precinct Master Plan

The Sport and Recreation Precinct Master Plan commenced in late 2024 and through extensive community and user group consultation and engagement, two master plan concept designs have been prepared. We are now seeking your feedback on both designs to help guide any future upgrades and developments within the West Beach Parks Sports and Recreation Precinct over the next 5-10 years.

The Concept Designs consider:

- Connections – paths and internal roadways
- Universal change rooms to cater for the increasing popularity of women and girls sports
- Wayfinding
- Parking
- Beautification
- Branding options
- Future compatible uses of the precinct
- Built form
