The City of Wentzville is excited to announce the expansion of Rotary Park!
The city has recently acquired 191-acres of land adjacent to the existing park and has engaged a planning consultant to develop a comprehensive master plan for future enhancements. This planning effort will focus on enhancing Rotary Park’s amenities while introducing new features to serve the needs of the community and region. With the addition of a 44-acre agricultural parcel to the west and a 147-acre pasture and woodland parcel to the north, Rotary Park will grow to approximately 263-acres—nearly tripling its size.
Wentzville Parks and Recreation's first survey this winter collected over 1100 responses about the venues and activities the Wentzville Community would like to see at an enhanced and expanded Rotary Park.
Key priorities identified for Rotary Park include:
1. Preservation and enhancement of natural assets — trees, wildlife, and open space
2. Year-round use supported by trails and recreation amenities
3. Family- and youth-oriented spaces that encourage active use
4. Equitable access, including activities for seniors and people with disabilities
5. Consideration for surrounding neighbors, including traffic, noise, and safety
We are seeking community feedback on the draft plan as it continues to evolve, so your input can directly inform the final design. This survey introduces the overall planning approach, including the organization of the park into three complementary zones—Passive, Active, and Event—followed by a series of questions about each area.
We greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts! (Your responses will be anonymous.)
Please stay tuned this spring and summer for upcoming events and surveys where you can share more input on the master plan in progress. Thank you!
