DEADLINE: May 5, 2024

The PHS Commissioned Officers Foundation for the Advancement of Public Health is pleased to announce a call for applications for the 2024 Family Member Scholarship Program. Awards are expected to be announced in June 2024.

Eligibility

Applicants must be the spouse or biological, step, or adopted child or grandchild of a current COA member. Applicants must also be matriculated students in undergraduate or graduate studies at schools located in the United States, or high school seniors who have been accepted at a post-secondary institution.

The Family Member Scholarship is limited to four total years of funding, and the Mishoe "BELIEVE" scholarship is limited to one year of funding. High school seniors may be awarded both a Family Member Scholarship and a "BELIEVE" scholarship one time during their senior year of high school. High school students applying for the Family Member Scholarship, who meet Mishoe "BELIEVE" Scholarship eligibility criteria and wish to compete for additional funding through the RDML Mishoe "BELIEVE" Scholarship (one time award), must ALSO complete the Mishoe "BELIEVE" essay (see #16 in the application.) Others may skip Question #16.

Selection and Notification

A review committee composed of COA members will select the scholarship recipients. Awardees will be announced in the newsletter Frontline and posted online.

Promotion of Scholarship

If you are selected to receive a scholarship, your photo and excerpts from your essay may be used for promotional purposes.
