Data Center Community Survey

The City of Bloomington and Town of Normal invite you to submit your comments, questions and/or concerns related to the construction or operation of Data Centers, for use in the development of questions for a panel of experts to respond to at a public presentation on August 26, from 5:00-8:00 PM, at the BCPA. Questions may also be submitted during the event.

The purpose of the event is to facilitate the exchange of information to support the City and Town’s ongoing evaluation of this topic.

Due to the anticipated number of submissions and the limited time available, not all submitted questions can be addressed during the event. Questions from the public will be sorted by topic and may be combined to provide panelists with questions that represent a broad range of topics and perspectives presented by the community. Note that the City and Town will hold formal public processes through their Planning Commissions at a later date, when the public will have the opportunity to testify and ask additional questions.

Thank you for providing input for the Data Center panel. The City and Town appreciate community input and the opportunity to hear questions and perspectives from residents, businesses, and stakeholders.

Submission of a question or concern does not guarantee that it will be addressed during the event. All submissions will be retained and may be provided to decision-makers as part of their consideration of potential regulations related to data centers and associated land use, development, environmental, infrastructure, and community impact considerations.
