About Us

The OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) is an intergovernmental agency that facilitates co-operation among countries with advanced nuclear technology infrastructure to seek excellence in nuclear safety, technology, science, environment and law. The NEA operates within the framework of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The objective of the Agency is to assist its member countries in maintaining and further developing, through international co-operation, the scientific, technological and legal basis required for a safe, environmentally sound and economical use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. It provides authoritative assessments and forges common understandings on key issues as input to government decisions on nuclear energy policy and to broader OECD analysis in areas such as energy and the sustainable development of low-carbon economies.

The Nuclear Energy Agency would like to invite you to take part in a survey about your experiences as a woman in the nuclear energy sector.  Gender balance in the nuclear energy sector is a matter of increasing importance for the Agency and its member countries. To this end, the Agency is working to develop policies for substantive action in order to support its members to achieve this important goal. Your views, through this survey, will help inform the NEA’s work to better understand women’s perceptions of gender balance in the workplace, aspirations and professional development, the barriers and challenges that need to be addressed, and to identify solutions. The results of this survey will enable the Agency to give practical advice and guidance to member-countries.

Whether you are just beginning your career, are in the midst of it, or have recently left, if you are woman with work experience in the nuclear energy sector or a related field, the NEA would like to invite your participation!
