West Virginia Statewide Trails Plan Framework Survey

Introduction

The State of West Virginia last published a comprehensive Statewide Trails Plan in 2002. In the decades since, trail use, community needs, and regional opportunities have evolved. WV TRAIL, a statewide advocacy organization dedicated to non-motorized trails, is leading the effort to renew the plan. The goal is to develop a forward-looking blueprint that empowers trail advocates, land managers, planners, and decision-makers to advance trail connectivity, access, and impact across the state.

This initiative is part of a broader statewide effort to renew the plan. WV TRAIL is conducting stakeholder interviews, reviewing trail plans from other states, and hosting Regional Workshops across the state this fall to gather input directly from communities. This survey is available and open to everyone — including trail users, builders, conservation groups, local businesses, government agencies, and anyone impacted by trails. Whether or not you attend a workshop, we invite you to take 10 minutes to share your thoughts and help shape the future of trails in West Virginia.
