Morning Session Description (9:30am-12:30pm)

The sub-theme of the morning session will be: Advancing health equity through attachment readiness and systemic transformation. Here, the keynote speaker, Sara Hobbs, and the panellists will discuss the construct of "attachment readiness," conceptualizing attachment to primary care not merely as an administrative event but as a system-enabled relationship. Access Alliance manager, Kasia, will present the theme paper. Discussions will emphasize that sustainable continuity of care requires a readiness-informed approach that integrates navigation supports and standardized intake processes to mitigate clinician burnout and enhance patient trust. Objectives will be to:
  • Define attachment readiness in the context of health equity frameworks and access in community health centres.
  • Understand the influences for attachment readiness (e.g. trust, treatment, engagement, responsiveness, etc.).
  • Pathways and roles of Community Health Centres in supporting increasing attachment to primary care.
Afternoon Session Description (1:30-3:30pm)

A World Café session will focus on empowering ACB children and youth by centring equity within mental health frameworks. The sub-theme of this session will be: “Empowering ACB children and youth by centring attachment and equity in mental health systems of care: exploring systems of care and designing a transformative pathway”. Participants will discuss structural barriers—including policy and cost barriers—while identifying intersectoral opportunities for early intervention. By generating specific impact metrics, the retreat will aim to design a transformative pathway that bridges systemic gaps and ensures high-fidelity, responsive care for ACB populations through the leadership of Community Health Centres. The objectives will be to:
  • Identify and build understanding of the current status in the light of temporal and structural barriers that impact or influence access to mental health resources. (e.g. policy, practices, costs, etc.)
  • Identify points of intersectoral connection to understand opportunities for early intervention, connection and access
  • Generate impact metrics to understand what success looks like.
