Call for Abstracts Introduction

The Association of Ohio Health Commissioners (AOHC) is seeking abstracts for the 2026 AOHC Fall Conference. The event will be held Monday - Wednesday, September 21-23, 2026, at the Embassy Suites, 5100 Upper Metro Place, Dublin, Ohio 43017.

AOHC’s Annual Fall Conference is a continuing educational opportunity for Ohio’s health commissioners and their staff, as well as strategic staff members of the Ohio Department of Health and other public health associations in Ohio. Total conference attendance is approximately 300 people, including health commissioners, medical and nursing directors, and environmental health professionals.

Public health in Ohio covers a broad range of clinical, environmental health, and health promotion services. The members of AOHC are the health commissioners of the local health departments throughout the state. As the “CEOs” of their local health departments, health commissioners make purchasing and other decisions for their departments.

Our expectation is that all sessions will follow best practices and scientific approaches and will convey innovative contemporary concepts that engage participants from various public health disciplines. Sessions will range in time from 45 minutes (didactic, demonstration, ignite thinking) to a 90-minute skill-building (discover, discuss, practice) workshop style.

Priority will be given to presentations that focus on one of the topics of interest listed below. The list was generated from feedback received from past participants, and members of the Association of Ohio Health Commissioners.
