Volunteers are at the heart of Voices of Hope's (VOH) efforts to promote a recovery ready community! Some volunteers perform regularly scheduled jobs like helping out at the Recovery Center by checking guests in or answering phones. Others help by assisting with weekly Telephone Recovery Support calls. Some even serve as special event volunteers, such as for Overdose Awareness Day, or provide administrative assistance.  Each of our volunteers brings an enthusiasm for recovery and a desire to make a difference for people impacted by addiction.

*Communication from our Volunteer Coordinator will come to you via email. Sometimes this gets lost in your spam folder. Be sure to look for an email from lindy@voicesofhopelex.org after you sign up!

Volunteer Opportunities:

Recovery Community Center Volunteer: Our recovery community center is designed to be a one-stop-shop to serve people in recovery! Volunteer your skills to help people get back on their feet. Can you help us create a welcoming and friendly environment for the people we serve?

Telephone Recovery Support:
Join us to support people in early recovery by making weekly phone calls. This is a great way to truly support someone on their recovery journey.

Overdose Awareness Day
: An annual event that occurs on the last Saturday of August. Help us celebrate recovery and remember those we have lost to overdose. Example tasks might be set up tables, greeting guests, or passing out t-shirts ( Registration for August 2019 is now closed, feel free to help us out in 2020 by choosing this option!).

Overdose Response Training: We often head out into the community to teach people how to respond to an overdose. This is a great place to volunteer if you have a medical background (though it is not required) or simply an interest in teaching others or overdose response.  We will give you all the training you need!
