No matter who you are, you can help people in recovery stay in recovery!

We have two types of amazing volunteers at Voices of Hope. Some of our volunteers commit to helping people in recovery on a regular basis, in our community center. Other volunteers help by cooking food for our participants or assisting at the occasional event. Whatever type of commitment you'd like to make, we have opportunities for you! Learn more about volunteering with Voices of Hope below.

*Communication from our Volunteer Coordinator will come to you via email. Sometimes this gets lost in your spam folder. Be sure to look for an email from lindy@voicesofhopelex.org after you sign up!

Volunteer Opportunities:

Overdose Awareness Day: An annual event that occurs on the last Saturday of August. Help us celebrate recovery and remember those we have lost to overdose. Example tasks might be set up tables, greeting guests, or passing out t-shirts ( Registration for August 2019 is now closed, feel free to help us out in 2020 by choosing this option!).

Recovery Community Center Volunteer
: Our recovery community center is designed to be a one-stop-shop to serve people in recovery! Volunteer your skills to help people get back on their feet. Can you help us create a welcoming and friendly environment for the people we serve?

Telephone Recovery Support:
Join us to support people in early recovery by making weekly phone calls. This is a great way to truly support someone on their recovery journey.

Overdose Response Training: We often head out into the community to teach people how to respond to an overdose. This is a great place to volunteer if you have a medical background (though it is not required) or simply an interest in teaching others or overdose response.  We will give you all the training you need!

Food volunteers: We need volunteers to prepare and provide food for sober social activities. You can choose to make your own food for events or buy prepackaged drinks and snacks for use at our center.
