The use of virtual care has accelerated rapidly during COVID-19. Virtual care is defined as “any interaction between patients and/or members of their circle of care, occurring remotely, using any forms of communication or information technologies, with the aim of facilitating or maximizing the quality and effectiveness of patient care.” (Shaw, Jamieson & Agarwal, 2018)
The Ontario Palliative Care Network (OPCN) created this survey to get a better understanding of how providers are using virtual care to support the delivery of palliative care.
The deadline to complete the survey was January 20th, and the survey is now closed.
On February 22nd from 2-3:30PM, the OPCN will host a virtual meeting to share an overview of the results from this survey, and to discuss opportunities to support the use of virtual care for palliative care. Anyone who is involved in providing palliative care virtually is welcome to attend the meeting.
If you would like to participate in the meeting on February 22nd,
please contact tara.walton@ontariohealth.ca . We also encourage you to place a hold in your calendar.
Thank you,
The Ontario Palliative Care Network Secretariat
