Dear Neighbors,
Each year my office sends a survey requesting your feedback to ensure that I am addressing the issues that you care about. 2022 survey results showed that your top three concerns of District 5 residents were crime, traffic and homelessness. Here are a few of the initiatives we worked on in 2022-2023 in response to this feedback:
• Funded a traffic study of Uinta Way to design safer roadways on some of our busiest streets.
• Reestablished and chaired the Charter Review Committee to help address inconsistencies and anachronisms in our Charter.
• Implemented crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED) upgrades in small businesses along the Colfax corridor with the help of DPD, City agencies, and The FAX Partnership.
• Was elected to the Colorado Municipal League Board of Directors to help better serve Denver and lead Colorado.
• Co-sponsored a legislative rezoning to help revitalize East Colfax with a zoning overlay to spur business and walkability along the corridor.
