Name: Louise WinmarProfile: My name I Louise Winmar and I am a year 12 student here at John Tonkin College. I enjoy Mathematics, Food Sciences and Technology as well as Photography. I am an Indigenous Australian and really value my culture. My biggest inspiration would have to be my father, as he is such a big role model/leader, not only in my eyes but in many others as well. This is why I am seeking to become a school captain this year! To become a true leader at my school to better it’s community and students opportunities. When arriving to JTC in year 8, I would have been known as a quiet and shy student. However, over the years I have definitely become more confident with myself and gained a lot more courage. In saying this I hope to be a role model within the school and encourage students to be the best versions of themselves.I strongly believe that I as a hard working student and I am willing to assist teachers and students in any way possible to the best of my ability. I promise to dedicate myself to serving the school and especially the students. Name: Rily MarsdenProfile: My name is Rily Marsden and I’m in year 12 here at John Tonkin College. This year I am pursuing a position of Student Leadership again at JTC. Last year I served as a year 11 Student Councillor, which had always been as aspiration of mine since arriving at JTC in year 8, 2015.I am going for the position of School Captain this year. I hope to once again represent the voice and cries of the students in this new higher role. Most of you, the Staff and students know me as the loud and truthful person I am. I believe these qualities would greatly help me truly represent each and everyone of you.I am prepared to dedicate myself fully to the role and to serve JTC.Thank you Name: Stephanie WilliamsProfile: I am currently attending year 12 at JTC and have been attending the school since year 8.I’m currently doing ATAR and a Photography Certificate 2 course.I would like to receive this position because I would like for JTC students to have a larger voice and opinion about what goes on around the school. If I was to receive this position I would want students to come to me to talk about their ideas on how to make JTC a better learning and inclusive environment for all. Name: Nastacia TarrosaProfile: I am a 16 year old ATAR student running for a Captain position in hopes of making a difference to John Tonkin College. As a graduating student, I want my final year in John Tonkin College to be a memorable year.Keeping the three values of the school insignia, which are: Respect, Excellence and Commitment.I am committed to bring the school into excellence. Excellence cannot be achieved by one person. In a community, excellence is achieved when the people work together to attain their main goal.As a student of JTC, I have come to a realization that the students are not very well acquainted with each other thus no unity being formed.I have many ideas I would wish to share once I become a College Captain to help maintain the three core values.I grew up with very strict parents. Discipline, excellence and respect were a part of my day to day routine. As a leader my main goal is to be a voice to stand up as a representative for the whole student body.As a 16 year old year 12 ATAR student with determination and respect running through my veins. Growing up with 4 siblings – three of them being younger, has made me become more responsible in order to set a good example to my siblings. Similar to running (and becoming) a captain position, in order for the community to be responsible, one must lead a good term to be a good role model and to set an example on how we must behave and act. With it bring my last year in John Tonkin College, I want to ensure that this will be a memorable year, not only for the year 12’s but to the whole school. Most of all I want to be a voice that speaks out to and for the students of John Tonkin College. I know how it feels to be alone and solemn with one’s thoughts with the thought that nobody would help them. With me as College Captain I would want to run peer-building events that would make students interact more and find friends that would help with problems. Name: Jack WinzerProfile: I believe I will make an excellent School captain/Councillor because I have been at this school since year 8 and I have really enjoyed it.I am a high achiever in class subjects. It would really help the school to have a captain like me.
