Question Title

* 1. University nominations are currently open for the esteemed Imbert Award, which is presented annually to recognise the most outstanding Master’s Level (L7) Dissertation or Thesis on a security or risk-related subject within the United Kingdom.

Universities can nominate 1 student work per subject, with a maximum of 3 nominations in total. For the purpose of this award application, 'subject' is defined as what will be displayed on the degree certificate. Example: only 1 nomination for certificates stating “MSc Security and Risk” (or variants of the same) is permissible. If you have a second nomination (e.g. “MSc Cybercrime”), that would be allowed.

Important Dates:
Submission deadline for entries is 23:59 on the 6th September 2026.
Finalists will be notified of inclusion by the 5th October 2026.
Awards dinner and winner announcements follow CONSEC on the 29th October 2026.

Submission of an entry indicates agreement with the below terms.

Terms:
* Contributors are required to comply with the following rules, violation of which will not only result in rejection of the paper and/or the removal of any subsequent awards
  1. The Dissertation or Thesis has been awarded by the university marks of a distinction level or equivalent (e.g. a 1st for BSc).
  2. The paper is creative and does not infringe on the copyright of other papers.
  3. The paper has not been published in the past.
  4. The paper is not currently submitted or planned to be submitted for publication elsewhere.
  5. Finalist papers will be reviewed and can be recommended for publication by the Association of Security Consultants (ASC) and/or shared with ASC members for educational purposes.
  6. Finalists plus their respective university supervisor (or other designated university representative) must be available in person for the awards ceremony held at CONSEC on the evening of the 29th of October 2026. Venue - Hinxton Hall, Ickleton Road, South Cambridgeshire, CB10 1RQ.

*a In addition to Risk/Security, papers can include entries from Criminology, Criminal Psychology, Cyber Security, Disaster/Travel Risk Management, etc. Please contact us if you wish to enter from a course not listed.

*b The Imbert Award is primarily for Masters (L7) submissions. Noteworthy Bachelors or PH.D. entries will be considered at the recommendation of the university submitting.
