Help Shape the Future of Upper Heyford!
Upper Heyford Parish Council is preparing a Community-Led Plan. This survey gives everyone the opportunity to tell us what matters most to you and to help set priorities for the coming years. There may be new transformations we would like to see in our small community as well as things we want to try to preserve. The aim of this survey is to give you the opportunity to share your concerns and opinions about issues relating to current life in the parish, as well as ideas about what we can do together to improve things for everyone in the future.
What is the process?
This Survey will provide information from every household about what we want for our community. That information can then be used to identify the most important ideas and projects, helping us develop a Community-Led Plan with a vision for the future of the parish. As a community, we will need resident volunteers to assist at every stage – to write the Plan, to form action groups to lead initiatives, and to raise money where necessary. The Plan itself will be an important tool for us to communicate our needs and wishes to funders and organisations such as Cherwell District Council and Oxfordshire County Council.
How has the Survey been designed?
This Survey forms part of Upper Heyford’s Community-Led Planning (CLP) process. It has been developed from the concerns, issues, and ideas that residents raised during the CLP launch meeting and in conversations with the Parish Clerk, in partnership with Community First Oxfordshire (CFO), a local community development charity.
What should I do with the Survey?
Please complete the Survey online if at all possible.
If you cannot complete the Survey online, a hard copy will have been posted through your door or can be requested from the Parish Clerk as below. It will be in an A4 envelope labelled ‘Upper Heyford Community Survey 2026’. These surveys can then be returned to the village hall post box, the Barley Mow, the Parish Clerks home; Rowley House, Allens Lane or we can arrange to collect if you prefer.
Please do encourage all members of your household to complete the Survey so that we receive the widest representation of opinions and age groups. Young people aged 15 and above can complete their own survey. Additional copies of the Survey are available at The Barley Mow, the Reading Room and the Village Hall or from the Parish Clerk by emailing: parishclerk@upperheyfordpc.org.uk
This Survey may look long, but it is easy to fill in and should not take too much of your time. If you need help completing it, please contact the Parish Clerk who will organise assistance.
Is the Survey confidential?
Yes – the Survey is being undertaken on behalf of the Upper Heyford Parish Council by Community First Oxfordshire (CFO). Your data will be processed by CFO in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (2018). In other words, all your responses are completely confidential and nobody on the Parish Council or in the parish will know how you have answered the Survey. Should you wish to sign up to help with the Community-Led Plan you will be asked to provide contact details - these will not be linked to your responses at all but will just be passed to the Parish Clerk.
CFO will provide a summary report on survey findings for the Steering Group. CFO’s privacy statement is available here.
The report will be published on the Parish Council website www.upperheyfordpc.org.uk and the Parish Council noticeboard. Our aim is to host an open parish meeting to discuss the outcomes and agree next steps.
