Request For Proposals (RFP)

Thank you for your interest in presenting at the 2027 OACAA Winter Conference!

OACAA is expanding opportunities for Community Action professionals to learn from one another and share practical ideas, lessons learned, tools, and innovations from across Ohio's Community Action Network. We welcome proposals from staff at all levels and from all areas of Community Action. Previous conference presentation experience is not required.

We're looking for sessions that help participants learn, solve problems, strengthen their organizations, and better serve their communities. These priorities support OACAA's broader goals of leadership development, organizational capacity, innovation, and excellence.
Conference Information
The 2027 OACAA Winter Conference will be held February 24-25, 2027, at The Ohioan Hotel in Lewis Center, Ohio. Selected presenters will be invited to contribute to a conference program that combines featured speakers, peer learning sessions, panels, discussions, workshops, and opportunities to showcase successful practices from across Ohio's Community Action Network.

This Request for Proposals is intended for members within Ohio's Community Action Network. Featured speakers and invited presenters will be selected separately by the conference planning team.

Most accepted proposals will be presented as 50-minute breakout sessions. Presenters may also indicate interest in sharing a brief case study presentation as part of a conference-wide closing session featuring examples of promising practices, innovations, and lessons learned from across the Network. Breakout sessions and case study presentations will be reviewed together as part of this process.
Before You Begin
To complete this form, please have the following information available:
  • Presenter contact information
  • Names and contact information for any co-presenters
  • Proposed session title
  • Brief session description (100-250 words)
  • Two to four participant takeaways or learning outcomes
  • Information about any tools, resources, templates, examples, or materials you plan to share
  • A short explanation of why this topic matters to Ohio's Community Action Network and who would benefit most from attending
  • Your preferred presentation format (breakout session, panel discussion, facilitated discussion, workshop, case study presentation, or other)
Strong proposals often share practical solutions, lessons learned, effective practices, tools, resources, innovative approaches, or real-world examples that others can adapt in their own organizations.
Selection Process
Proposals must be submitted by October 30, 2026.

All proposals will be reviewed by the conference planning team. Submission does not guarantee acceptance. We may contact you to discuss modifications, combine similar proposals, suggest an alternate format, or explore opportunities to feature your topic at a future OACAA event. Presenters selected through the RFP process will receive discounted conference registration. Applicants will be notified of proposal decisions in November 2026.
