AAP FamilY Partnerships Network (FPN) Executive Committee Call for Nominations and Application - 2026

Call for Nominations

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is seeking two new members to join the Family Partnerships Network (FPN) Executive Committee, which advises the national AAP on meaningful family and youth engagement. One of these positions is designated for a young adult ages 18–26.

Who Should Apply
We welcome applicants who are:
  • Parents, guardians, young adults, or other family members involved or interested in children’s health
  • Connected to or active in family/youth groups or advocacy and has previous experience in a committee or Board role
  • Comfortable sharing ideas by speaking or writing
  • Bringing diverse backgrounds and perspectives, including individuals from communities that have not been previously represented at the AAP
  • Experienced with AAP or other national committee/board (helpful but not required)

We value authentic family journeys as much as professional experiences and titles.

What to Expect as a Committee Member
Members will:
  • Participate in monthly conference calls
  • Attend one in-person meeting each year (2 days, travel covered by AAP)
  • Review AAP materials and offer the family/youth perspective
  • Support efforts to increase family engagement in children’s health at AAP
  • Serve a 2-year term and receive a $1,000 annual stipend

Total Time Commitment: Approximately 1.5-2 hours monthly, including monthly meetings, content reviews, and other FPN related projects, in addition to one 2-day in-person meeting.
