The AER Director’s Scholarship reflects the commitment of the AER Board of Directors to invest in the future of the profession by supporting students entering the field.
Funded by the AER Board of Directors, this scholarship provides direct support to individuals pursuing degrees that lead to careers serving people who are blind or have low vision. It represents a strategic investment in strengthening the pipeline of qualified professionals and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the field.
One $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program preparing for a career in education, rehabilitation, or related services for individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
Through this scholarship, the AER Board affirms its commitment to developing the next generation of professionals and advancing the mission of the organization.
All application questions and materials for consideration of the 2026 scholarship must be submitted to AER by May 26, 2026.
