9% of survey complete.
This survey is being conducted by the Transport Planning Society (TPS) as part of its Policy Panel work (https://tps.org.uk/tps-policy/policy-panel). It seeks to collect the views of transport professionals to reflect on current travel planning practices and scope a vision for the future of development-related travel planning.

Travel Plans have long been used as part of the planning process to encourage more sustainable travel behaviour and, in some cases, to help mitigate the transport impacts of development. The transport planning profession now needs to consider how approaches may need to evolve in the context of a vision-led system, which places greater emphasis on achieving sustainable transport outcomes when compared to the older 'predict and provide' model.

The survey aims to understand:
- how Travel Planning is currently used within development planning
- whether Travel Plans are achieving their intended objectives
- why Travel Plans are sometimes perceived as a "tick-box exercise" and
- if the role of Travel Planning should change under a vision-led transport planning approach

The findings will be used to produce a TPS position statement on Travel Planning (capturing successes and challenges, and identifying areas of consensus) and support future opportunities, for example, in terms of national policy engagement.

We would be grateful if you could take 10 minutes to complete the questions and share your personal views.
