Tameside Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Survey |
Overview
Tameside Council is committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions across the borough by 2038, aligned with its Climate Emergency declaration. As road transport remains one of the largest contributors to local emissions, and with EV uptake set to rise sharply, expanding a fair and accessible public charging network is essential. The Draft Tameside Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Strategy 2025–2030 outlines how we will plan, deliver, and maintain this network, aiming to support cleaner transport while ensuring equitable access for all parts of our community.

This strategy is backed by the UK Government’s Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) funding and will guide collaboration with charge-point operators (CPOs) to install a range of appropriate charging solutions, especially in areas with limited off-street parking. We’re inviting you to help shape our approach. To ask questions or submit more feedback, please visit http://www.tameside.gov.uk/evi. Your input will help ensure our charging network meets both current and future needs across the borough.
