The Motherhood Connection Survey: Understanding Friendship, Loneliness & Support in the Early Years

Motherhood can be joyful and rewarding. And it can also be socially isolating and lonely.

We’re exploring how mothers in Australia have built social connections, formed friendships, and navigated loneliness in the years post COVID.

Your insights will help inform national conversations and new initiatives to better support mothers’ mental health, social wellbeing, and sense of community and belonging — in the formative years of the motherhood journey.

We’d love to hear from anyone who has become a mother in the past six years, including through birth, fostering, adoption, surrogacy, or becoming a step-parent.

The survey takes about 5 minutes, and is being run thanks to Women's Agenda's partnership with Medibank and as part of our series examining the issue of women and loneliness in Australia.

All responses are confidential and anonymous unless you choose to share your details at the end.

Please note: Some questions touch on loneliness, pregnancy loss, and mental health.
