2026 TBCS Observership Program Details:
- Financial Support: A $3,000 USD stipend will be provided to the selected participant to assist with travel and lodging costs.
- Symposium Registration: Complimentary registration for the 2026 Taipei International Breast Cancer Symposium (TIBCS), held in Taipei on 19-20 September 2026.
- Hospital Visit (SHVP): Priority invitation to the Short Hospital Visiting Program on 17-18 September 2026.
- Social Event: Complimentary registration for the Gala Dinner on the evening of 19 September 2026.
Mandatory Requirements - To ensure active academic exchange, the awardee is required to:
- Submit an Abstract for TIBCS 2026 by the deadline of 28 June 2026.
- Participate in the Young Doctors Forum/Debate (YDF/YDD) during the symposium.
Candidates must meet the following criteria in order to be considered:
- Be an SSO member in good standing (2026 dues must be paid) to apply.
- Cannot have previously received the SSO ICDE grant.
- Cannot have previously participated in the Career Catalyst Mentorship Program.
- Cannot have previously participated in the President Scholars Program.
- Cannot have previously participated in the Foster the Future Mentorship Program.
- Cannot have participated in a global partner observership.
- Must be 45 years old or younger at the time of the TBCS 2026 programing (September 17-20, 2026).
- Must be currently employed in the US.
- Must have a strong command of the English language (both writing and speaking).
- Must have a current passport.
- Must be US-based and be able to obtain a travel visa Taipei.
