The Teen Leadership Council is a school-year youth employment program that will hire up to 18 Teen Leaders, ages 14-18, specializing in one area of the performing arts - dance, music, or acting - using the arts for social change in their communities. Teen Leaders will collaborate to create an original Final Showcase performance and arts-based workshops on a social justice topic. Teen Leaders will deepen their job readiness skills, practice facilitating groups while engaging community members in meaningful dialogue; and operate as agents of change in their communities.

Previous performing arts experience is NOT necessary! Prior preparation is NOT required for interviews.

Eligibility requirements:
- You must be between 14 and 18 years old in high school.
- All applicants are required to live in the city of Boston in order to participate.
- All applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.

Interview Process:
All applicants must complete an in person interview with Boch Center Education staff (Shubert Theatre, 265 Tremont Street); we will ask your goals for joining the program, interest in the arts and social justice, and your availability for our program schedule. Interviews will be scheduled in 30 minute slots. An Education staff member will contact you to confirm your interview once your application is completed.

Interview Dates:
Tuesday October 14th @4pm-6pm
Tuesday October 21st @4pm-6pm

Callback:
All candidates will be required to attend a second interview part, which will be an in-person interactive workshop with warm-up games/activities, social justice/current event conversations, and artistic creation on a social justice topic. We will give you all the details about the callback session at your first one-on-one interview. These will be on Tuesday, October 7th or Thursday October 23rd @4pm-6pm at the Shubert Theatre.

All applicants will be evaluated on the following: collaboration, creative risk-taking, artistic aptitude, content engagement, and facilitation/public presentation.
