If you are a person of color interested in joining a nonprofit organization board of directors (or equivalent) in the Twin Cities, come meet nonprofits in person at our third annual Board Recruitment Fair for people of color on Monday August 21, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Courtyard Marriott, 1500 S. Washington Ave, Minneapolis. New this year, an after-event social hosted by Greater MSP!

We expect over 100 local nonprofit organizations with board openings hoping to meet YOU. All of the organizations present have committed to pairing you with a board buddy (an existing board member to meet with you outside of the formal board meetings to support you as a new board member). And Board Repair has regular trainings and other events to support you in your board journey.

Come for the whole time or just a bit (but don’t forget that social!). By registering in advance, we will have materials including a nametag, contact info labels, and tip sheets prepared for you. At the fair, you will meet staff and board members from the organizations, and decide if you are interested in continuing the conversation to see if it’s a good fit – no pressure to decide on the spot. Organizations will be clustered by type – you won’t have to visit all of them. We will also provide light refreshments and a networking/social area. After you register we will send a confirmation email that includes more detailed information (how to prepare, parking, transit, etc.).

Please feel free to come with friends - invite them! Each person should register separately.

See you on August 21!
