Survey Instructions and Introduction
Survey Instructions:
The Erie County Bureau of Forestry is seeking public and stakeholder input as we update the 2003 Erie County Forest Management Plan.
Please read the brief introduction below and each question carefully and respond as requested. You will see that most of the questions ask you to select up to three items from a list of options. The items that you select should reflect what you consider most important. You may feel that there are more than three options that are important or preferred and that is okay! We are looking for your top three priorities. Feel free to provide additional information in the comment section under each question.

Your time and input are much appreciated. Thank you!
Introduction:
The Erie County Bureau of Forestry was created in 1927 with the principal goal that Erie County maintains forest lands for the following objectives:
- For the sale of forest products to aid the public revenues,
- To protect water supplies,
- To prevent damage to lands and property from storm, floods, and erosion,
- To assist in re-establishing soil fertility,
- To provide habitat for game and fish,
- To encourage reforestation of lands under private ownership, and
- That forests are cultivated based on current science and best management practices.
These are currently the objectives of the Bureau of Forestry. In updating the Forest Management Plan, we must consider the full spectrum of management options and the intended effects of their implementation. Your completion of the survey questions below will provide valuable input as we determine how County-owned forests will be managed moving forward.
