PROJECT BRIEF
Barengi Gadjin Land Council (BGLC) is seeking custom artwork from a Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia, and Jupagulk artist/designer for the iconic branding celebrating the 20-Year Anniversary of Native Title for the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia, and Jupagulk Peoples.

The artwork will live alongside BGLC’s existing brand logo mark and be used across website, social media, digital and communication materials.

We are looking for a strong, graphic artwork that has clearly defined elements, shapes and/or linework that can be digitised for use across the communications in relation to all matters to do with 20-Year Anniversary of Native Title (2025-2026). The artwork can be a physical artwork (painting or drawing that we will then digitise) or it can be supplied in a digital format (preferably vector or high-resolution JPEG).

BACKGROUND
On 13th December 2005, Native Title was determined for the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia and Jupagulk Peoples of the Wotjobaluk Nations, the first in Victoria.

The 13th of December 2025 marks the 20-year Anniversary of Native Title for the Peoples of the Wotjobaluk Nations and represents an opportunity to acknowledge the journey, celebrate the many achievements and pay homage to the trailblazers and the hardworking citizens who have led us to this landmark achievement for the Wotjobaluk Nations.

SCOPE
The Artwork will be used within the following contexts:
1. Event Signage,
2. Social media platforms
3. BGLC Website
4. Communication materials; for example postcards, posters, letterhead etc.

UNDERSTANDING:
For the selected artwork, the Artist understands and agrees that:
- The submitted artwork will become the basis for the graphic design of the communication materials across all communication platforms and mediums relating to the 20-Year Anniversary of Native Title 2025-26.
- The submitted artwork may be used in its complete form, or elements from it might appear as details in the final branding.
- The artist grants BGLC a license for exclusive use of the Artwork for the purposes of communicating the 20-Year Anniversary for the period of 2025-26.
- The submitted Artwork will be hosted at BGLC offices until 30 December 2025, after which the artist may sell the work at a price set by the Artist after giving BGLC first right of refusal.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
STYLE
The 20-Year Anniversary of Native Title Artwork will be selected by representatives from the Wotjobaluk Nations Festival Project Group for:

1) Its graphic design potential demonstrating:
· A strong, graphic artwork with clearly defined elements.
· Its prospective use in a variety of different communication contexts, shapes and sizes.
· Elements that can be isolated and used as individual graphics if needed.

CONTENT/THEMES
2) How the Artwork connects to the strength and resilience of the Wotjobaluk Nations Peoples and what Native Title and Self-Determination means to them.

LICENSING FEE
The successful Artist will receive a fee of $2,500 (exc GST) for the exclusive use of the artwork, the meaning of the artwork and licensing to use the generated the communication materials.

AGREEMENT
The chosen Artist will enter into a licensing agreement with BGLC. This will enable BGLC exclusive use of the artwork for the period of 2025 until 30 December 2026. The artwork maybe graphically altered and used at BGLC’s discretion for the purposes of communication templates. BGLC will also own the design files which may be adjusted at BGLC’s discretion.
COPYRIGHT
The copyright and ownership of the artwork will rest with the Artist.

ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS
Submitted Artwork will need to be supplied as:
- Original artwork (photograph submitted as part of EOI process)
- Original digital design file
