Dear Business-Minded Aspiring Public Leader:

Thank you for your interest in the Public Leadership Institute – Civic Leadership Track, a program of the Orlando Economic Partnership.

The Civic Leadership Track is designed for business-minded leaders and senior executives in Central Florida who may have no interest in seeking elected office but want to discover how to influence public policies for regional prosperity. Class size is limited and the selection process will be highly competitive.

Applicants from Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Brevard, Lake, Volusia and Polk Counties are invited.

WHAT THE LEADER WILL DISCOVER
Through an interactive learning format and small-group experience, leaders will learn how to develop a strategic plan for influencing public policy, OVERCOMING obstacles to engagement, PROMOTING their expertise as an influence-leader, MANEUVERING through the political and policy landscape and WORKING with policymakers to advocate for pro-prosperity policies.

COURSE SCHEDULE

Classes will meet over three full-day sessions at the Orlando Economic Partnership, 200 S. Orange Ave., Suite 200, Orlando, FL 32801 on the following dates:

Friday, September 19, 8:45 - 4:00
Friday, October 17, 8:45 - 4:00
Friday, November 21, 8:45 - 4:00

Lunch will be provided, and breaks will be available throughout each class session.

A fourth class in January 2026 will bring together leaders from both the Political Leadership Track and the Civic Leadership Track for policy briefings about issues important to the Orlando region, and networking opportunities, concluding with a graduation ceremony.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENT

Participants must attend all classes to qualify for graduation. PLI cannot accept candidates who have filed for elected office. Should the participant become a filed candidate for elected office during the course, the participant will be dismissed from the program.

All participants will receive a 100% scholarship thanks to the generous support of program sponsors.
