Scholarship Application Overview
Once you select the scholarship you wish to apply to below, you will be taken to the specific application questions. However, we've also included the full application info for each scholarship below for your reference. You will also be asked to upload a headshot that TAPA can use in promotions if you are selected.
Each scholarship application consists of three required components:
1. Application Form with Two Essay Questions (you will need to upload your essay answers as .doc, .docx, or .pdf)
Foundation Scholarship Essay Questions:
1. In 250 words or less, what do you hope to accomplish as a PA after graduation and how will that benefit TAPA, patients, society and/or the State of Texas?
2. In 600 words or less, describe your involvement in community activities while in PA school that have or will contribute to your ability to become a better PA in the future? Additionally, describe any leadership roles that you have held while in PA school and time commitments that you have dedicated to each?
Past Presidents' Scholarship Essay Questions:
1. In 250 words or less, what do you hope to accomplish as a PA after graduation and how will that benefit TAPA, patients, society and/or the State of Texas?
2. In 600 words or less, describe a meaningful experience that has shaped your journey toward becoming a PA. How has this experience influenced your academic, leadership, or community involvement? What did you learn about yourself, and how will you apply that insight to your future practice as a PA?
2. External Letter of Support
You are asked to upload a letter of support from a PA professor, preceptor or mentor from a professional setting. We ask that letters be no more than 1,000 words. Letters of support should include the recommender's title, institutional affiliation, and contact information.
3. Program Verification
Copy of transcript to confirm you are enrolled in good standing at a PA school.
