Introduction
Your input will help shape the city's future approach to events, public space use, and street closures.
Fredericksburg hosts a variety of events, from long-standing traditions like the Christmas Parade and the Farmers Market to annual festivals and block parties. These events bring energy and visitors to downtown, but they can also create challenges such as parking shortages, access issues, and increased demands on city services.
The City of Fredericksburg is reviewing its special event and street closure policies to ensure they balance:
- Vibrancy & economic benefit
- Safety & logistics
- Impact on residents and businesses
This work builds on previous efforts conducted in 2018. This survey is designed to capture perspectives from residents, merchants & business owners, event organizers, and city staff & partners. Your responses will help inform event regulations, street closure guidelines, and promotional strategies moving forward. This survey uses a mix of multiple-choice, rating scale, and open-ended questions. Some sections will appear based on your role (skip logic). Your responses are confidential.
