SAINT JAMES CATHOLIC CHURCH
FEASIBILITY STUDY QUESTIONNAIRE

Introduction

Thank you for participating in this important parish planning process. Please read Fr. Michael Wimsatt's vision letter before completing the questionnaire. If you have read it already, however, simply scroll down and begin answering the survey questions.

QUESTIONNAIRE: To facilitate this feasibility study process, leadership has engaged the parish support services of Generis (Gen-nair-us), an international Christian company committed to advancing the Gospel of Christ's Kingdom. They are guiding us in developing, administering, and interpreting the results of this feasibility study. Within the Archdiocese of Louisville, Generis has assisted dozens of other parishes and parish schools in similar studies and in capital campaigns. Generis also serves Catholic parishes and faith-based non-profits in dioceses all across America, as well as many other countries of the world.

Your responses/comments will be seen only by the Generis team. However, at the conclusion of this study, Generis will provide the parish office the updated contact information on all who participated in the study. This will enable us to update our parish family records. We invite you to provide Generis with your updated contact information at the end of this questionnaire.

Deadline for questionnaire completion? 6:00PM on June 30, 2026.

Thank You for joining us in celebrating 175 years of ministry. Thank you also for participating in this study as we prepare our parish for the next 175 years of ministry.
1.I have reviewed Fr. Michael's vision letter and I am ready to answer the survey questions.
2.How long have you been attending Saint James?
3.How frequently do you attend Mass at Saint James?
4.Which Mass do you typically attend? (Check all that apply)
5.What is your age range?
6.Overall, how happy are you with the programs/ministries at Saint James?
7.(This question should be answered by those with children or grandchildren enrolled in our Saint James School. If you do not have enrolled children or grandchildren, skip question #7 and proceed to Question #8 below). How happy are you with the overall educational experience your children/grandchildren are receiving at the Saint James School?
8.Does the parish teach parishioners how to pray, how to participate in the parish, and how to be generous in giving?
9.In my opinion, the greatest strengths of our church are (Check all that apply)
10.In my opinion, the following areas need to be strengthened or expanded: (Check all that apply)
11.In preparation for our parish's 175th anniversary, leadership has been meeting for months to discern long-term needs and the merits of moving toward a unified church and school campus. Now that our anniversary has arrived, we seek to determine if this is the right time to begin raising funds in a capital campaign to build the new church at the Robinbrooke campus. How strongly do you feel a campaign for this purpose would be widely supported?
12.If we conducted a campaign, what do you think our parish might collectively raise over a 3-year period to build a new church? (Give this question your best guess).
13.If this study reveals the majority of parishioners would support a campaign to build a new church, how likely is it that your family would participate by making a pledge to the campaign? Note: Pledges and donations should be over-and-above regular offertory giving and/or giving to other worthy charities.
14.To build a church that meets our needs without incurring long-term debt, we will need generous giving by all. While we are not seeking pledges at this time, we are asking for your opinion. By indicating a gift your family would consider giving will help our leaders plan accurately. From the options below, pease select a 3-year gift range your family might consider giving. Note: If spouses complete this questionnaire separately, one spouse should answer this question. The other should skip this question, and the next, and proceed to Q16.
15.If the payout period for the campaign were 5-years instead of 3, would that make a difference in the gift range your family would consider? If so, indicate below a 5-year gift range your family might consider giving. Note: If a longer pay out period doesn't matter, skip this question and proceed to Q16.
16.Would your pledge consist of other methods of giving, such as non-cash gifts-in-kind, stocks or bonds, real estate, life insurance policy, a gift from a charitable trust, Donor Advised Fund, RMD (Required Minimum Distribution), or a FF(Family Foundation)?
17.Please suggest the names of one to three lay leaders from among the parish and school families whom you would trust to provide leadership in a capital campaign.
18.Would you consider including the Saint James Church and/or the Saint James School in your will and estate plans?
19.To encourage generous giving in a capital campaign, should we include, in consultation with the Archdiocese of Louisville, "Naming Opportunities" (as in naming the rooms, windows, liturgical furnishings, etc.)?
20.Comments: Is there a comment you would like to make or a question you would like to ask that we did not cover in this questionnaire?
21.Statement of Confidentiality: The information you have provided in this questionnaire is completely confidential and will be treated as such by Generis. To update our in-office record-keeping system, please provide your name and updated contact information. Your responses to this questionnaire will be seen by the Generis team only.
