The University of Toronto's Centre for Advancing Collaborative Healthcare & Education (CACHE) at the University Health Network is pleased to invite submissions for Volume 4, Issue 2 (Spring 2026) of the magazine, Together: Stories of Collective Impact.Submit your story/event/announcement/cover art below.
Deadline for submissions: April 21, 2026.Special Issue Focus: Patient, Family, and Caregiver PartnershipThis Spring 2026 issue will be a
special edition dedicated to highlighting stories of patient, family, and caregiver engagement and partnership in health and social care education and practice.
This focus was inspired by the Patient's Voice Conference (November 2025, Vancouver), where we had the privilege of learning, sharing, and presenting alongside patient/family/caregiver partners and colleagues. The experience reinforced the importance of not only including patient/family/caregiver voices, but truly partnering, co-creating, and learning together.
We invite you to share stories that reflect meaningful collaboration with patient, family, and caregiver partners in interprofessional education and practice (IPE/IPC).
We welcome submissions that explore:
- Patient, family, and caregiver partnership in education, care, and system design
- Co-creation, co-teaching, and co-leadership with patient/family/caregiver partners
- Examples of collaboration that demonstrate relationship-focused care - building trust, communication, and co-creation across teams
- Reflections on engagement, inclusion, equity, and shared decision-making
- Creative expressions (poetry, artwork, narrative) that centre lived experience
- Programs, initiatives, or research that advance partnership in IPE/IPC
This special issue aligns with the CIHC Relationship-Focused Care/Services domain, emphasizing purposeful partnerships, shared decision-making, and the meaningful inclusion of patients, families, and caregivers across all stages of care, education, and system design.
As always, we also welcome broader submissions related to collaborative healthcare and education — including innovations, research synopses, profiles, interprofessional events, grant & award announcements, and achievements.
Submissions should:
- be approximately 350 words or less in length;
- provide details about how it relates to IPE/collaborative practice (for more information please refer to CIHC Competencies);
- include Author(s)/Contributor(s)' Full Name(s), Degrees/Credentials, and up to two affiliations for each author;
- include pictures and/or visual art pieces (strongly encouraged). Heads shots are acceptable; photos of something happening are even better. Pictures should be high-resolution colour jpegs or pngs;
- if applicable, include 5 references (maximum).
Submissions not meeting the above criteria will be asked to revise and resubmit.
As well, we are looking for
COVER ART submissions for this special issue. We especially encourage artwork that reflects themes of partnership, voice, lived experience, and collaboration. Cover art submissions would need to be
high-resolution, high-quality images of your work(s). Cover art should also include artist statements. Photography, paintings, mixed media, and other mediums are acceptable. Please note if your art is selected for the cover, it may be cropped to accommodate text, and text may be superimposed on part of the image.
