Minnesotans are invited to provide feedback on the third draft of the Minnesota K-12 Standards in Social Studies standards' benchmarks during the Public Review and Comment Period as the department starts rule making. Please use the social studies standards survey to provide feedback. The feedback survey closes on December 14, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. CST. At the conclusion of the public comment period, the department will review the feedback from the survey as it continues the process.

A questions and answers document is also available, which provides information about the standards review and revision process, and updates in the second draft. Visit MDE’s Social Studies webpage and MDE's Rulemaking Page for more information about the process and for the document.

This survey allows you to submit feedback on the benchmarks for the standards. Feedback on the standards should be shared on the Office of Administrative Hearing website. At the end of the survey, you can provide overall feedback on the draft. Please note that responses are not automatically saved as each question is answered, but all of your responses are submitted at once when you click the "done" button. A response is not required for each question, but we encourage you to complete as many questions that are applicable. Please select "Done" when finished to submit your survey. Thank you for sharing your feedback.

If you are not able to use the survey, you can also submit feedback via email to mde.academic-standards@state.mn.us. Note that you will receive an automatic reply when submitting via email, but all feedback will be reviewed carefully. If you would prefer, you can send comments via postal mail to:
