The FWC is responsible for managing Florida's fish and wildlife resources for their long-term well-being and for the benefit of people. This often involves enacting and enforcing rules and regulations governing human activity in many areas - such as hunting and fishing.

FWC Commissioners will consider "draft" rule change proposals for small game hunting on FWC-Managed areas at their April 19-20, 2017, meeting in Havana, Fl., and provide guidance to staff on how to proceed. Commissioners will consider the proposed rule changes for final adoption at their July, 2017, meeting.  If adopted, rules will take effect on September 1, 2017.
