The abstract should include:
  • The abstract should be 1500-3000 characters, with spaces
  • The presentation title is entered as a separate field on the submission form and should not be included in the abstract
  • Presentation authors are entered as a separate field on the submission form and should not be included in the abstract
  • The abstract should not contain formal citations to published work or literature
  • Footnotes should not be included
  • Minimize technical jargon not understood by other professions. This is an interprofessional conference and thus the abstract should be understood by many.
  • Avoid using abbreviations in the abstract unless the abbreviation is clearly explained.
A good abstract contains the following elements:
  • Clear research statement/hypothesis
  • Brief statement of research methodologies
  • Brief statement of research conclusions or findings to date
  • Clear sense of how the research fits into the bigger picture and/or how it may be applied
