Do you know an extraordinary health-care worker?
Nominate them for Scheif’s Healthcare Heroes!

The COVID-19 pandemic has put unprecedented demands on health-care workers throughout Manitoba. In every region, across every care setting and, in every community, remarkable stories of strength, selflessness and compassion have been shared.

You have stepped up in immeasurable ways, supporting patients, residents and clients navigate the additional stress of accessing health services during a pandemic. It’s your turn to be recognized for contributions made during the pandemic.

Throughout the 2021-22 season, Mark Scheifele and his family, along with the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club, True North Sports + Entertainment and Shared Health, will honour deserving health-care professionals as a thank you for their commitment to our community.

Share with us your nomination of a deserving health system worker. This could be a colleague or care team member, a leader, or someone who you don’t directly work with but you know has gone above and beyond to care for others or to support their team. Deserving health system workers may include both non-union and unionized staff, physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, support services, volunteers and other health agencies in both public and private health-care settings. Tell us a story of their compassion, their commitment to caring, their COVID-19 experience.

Nominations will be entered into a draw and finalists will be reviewed by a provincial selection committee. Well-deserving health-care workers (and guests) will be selected to attend a Winnipeg Jets home game between October 2021 and April 2022. Each hero will enjoy dinner before the game and will be recognized at the game and across Shared Health and Winnipeg Jets social platforms for their remarkable strength, selflessness, and compassion.

We know the efforts you and your colleagues have made, and continue to make, to care for your community, your loved ones, and complete strangers who have relied upon your skill and expertise.

Let’s remind Manitobans of how incredible our health-care heroes are, while saying thank you, to those who have made such a difference in the lives of so many.

Nominations are open October 9, 2021 – December 31, 2021.

A new call for nominees will occur in the New Year.

Nominees must be a current – or recently retired – health-care worker at a Manitoba facility, program or service. Winners must be able to show proof of full vaccination prior to entry to the game and be able to be in Winnipeg to attend.
