Question Title

* 2. We are considering making SSUI be a required course in the undergraduate HCI first major. Do you think this would be a good idea? What comments do you have about to what extent the content or format or homeworks for the course should change in order for it to be a required course.

Question Title

What do you think about having 6 homeworks and a project in the semester?

Question Title

* 12. The homeworks as a whole were:

Question Title

* 14. The homeworks were:

  Interesting 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Boring
Interesting

Question Title

* 15. Assuming we try to have less work the next time the course is offered, what do you think about eliminating the final project, spreading out the existing 6 homeworksand maybe having one more homework, for example about using DialogFlow so everyone can try out implementing a simple speech interface.

Question Title

* 16. Any comments about the Final Project?

Question Title

* 17. Another idea is to remove one of the homeworks, so there are only 5 (or even fewer).

One way would be to start off in React with homework 1, and then we would not need any "converting" homeworks (mainly eliminating homework 4). What do you think about this idea?

Question Title

* 18. Another idea would be to just stick to regular JavaScript, and not use React at all (again eliminating homework 4). What do you think of this idea?

Question Title

* 19. Maybe a different homework should be eliminated? Here are all the homeworks. How important do you think each one is?

Very important Somewhat important Neutral/no opinion Not very important Should be eliminated
HW1: Html, CSS, and JavaScript
HW2: Input Handling
HW3: Graphics using SVG and Canvas
HW4: Using React and adding a shopping cart page
HW5: Undo using Command Objects
HW6: Connecting to a Backend

Question Title

* 20. Maybe you have an idea how one or more of the homeworks could be made easier? For example, are there sub-parts of homeworks that should be removed? Feel free to recommend changes to each of the 6 homeworks:

Question Title

* 21. What do you think about SSUI using JavaScript + React as opposed to other languages and/or frameworks? For example, we could have chosen Java + Android or JavaScript + Angular. What language + framework should be used next time, and why?

Question Title

* 22. Any other comments about the homeworks in general?

Question Title

* 23. For the readings:

  All Most Some Few None
How many of the required readings did you read?
How many of the recommended readings did you read?

Question Title

* 24. This class is supposed to take about 12 hours per week, including class time.
