Education Grants for Teachers

Sumter EMC is excited to offer educational grants for classroom projects. Teachers who teach in a school within our service territory, which is Chattahoochee, Dougherty, Lee, Marion, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Stewart, Sumter, Terrell, and Webster counties, are eligible to apply. Applications are due by September 21, 2026.

The amount of funding requested must be a minimum of $500 and maximum of $1,500. All grant recipients must send in a complete report of their final project, including proof of purchase of materials. We will require you to include pictures and/or videos, plus an explanation of the final project. Only one application can be sent in per teacher per year. Applicants must be Georgia-certified educators.

  • Applications are due Monday, September 21st.
  • Awards will be given out in November.
  • Funds must be used within the 2026-27 School Year.

Each award recipient must complete a form at the end of the school year including: a summary of the final project, pictures and/or videos of students utilizing the project, and documentation of purchases for the project (including receipts). Funds must be used within the 2026-27 School Year. If proper documentation is not submitted, the recipient may be required to reimburse Sumter EMC for the award amount. (Required.)
