INTRODUCTION:
Good day. Cirrus Survey Warehouse is currently conducting an independent assessment of the potential economic and socio-economic impact of the proposed in-situ uranium mining/leeching on behalf of the Stampriet Aquifer Uranium Mining Association (SAUMA). As part of the broader assessment, we are gathering farm owners’ views on this proposed project. We would like to better understand current farming conditions, and how this could change in the event that the basin area is partially or completely contaminated as a result of the in-situ leaching.
Please note that your participation in this survey is voluntary, and you will not be negatively affected if you decide not to participate. The responses you give will not be linked to your identity, or the name of your farm. Data will be analysed in aggregate, and no one will be able to identify your individual responses. The responses you provide will be treated confidentially, and will only be shared with the Cirrus Survey Warehouse team appointed for this assessment. You are also free to stop the interview at any time, or opt to not answer a specific question.
Your participation is extremely valuable in understanding the current contribution of farms in the basin area, and how the status quo of life and economic activity could be affected by this mining project.
