MPI Ohio 2025 Awards Selection Criteria

Leadership and volunteerism are the reasons for MPI Ohio Chapter’s continuous success. Once a year, we celebrate our members and their accomplishments. We need your help in submitting nominations for our annual awards event. Take some time to think about which members deserve recognition for enhancing our chapter and the meetings industry overall. The deadline for nominations is end of day Friday, December 5, 2025. Nominations submitted by our members will be reviewed, tallied and voted on by a separate selections committee outside of MPI Ohio. The awards will be announced during our Annual Recognition & Appreciation Event, MPI Ohio Elevate Awards. at the 2026 NAVIGATE Conference, on February 24thth in Columbus. You can nominate more than once! Don't forget to register to attend!
Guidelines for all Awards:
1. Nominee must be a member of the MPI Ohio Chapter.
2. Board Members are not eligible for awards. Click here to view a list of board members
3. A brief statement must be submitted for each award summarizing why the candidate should be considered.
4. You can submit more than one nomination at a time using this form or submit the form multiple times for different nominations.
5. You can start the form and then come back to complete it if needed. It is not complete until you click the submit button.
6. This nomination process shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to complete.
Nomination Guidelines:
The nominee should be someone who has contributed to enhancing our chapter and/or the meetings industry. Please give as much detail as possible to ensure that your nominee is being presented appropriately. Below are considerations when nominating an Ohio MPI member.
    1. Professional/Career Experience and Accomplishments
    2. Leadership in MPI Ohio Chapter Service
         - Committee involvement, chairmanship
    3. MPI International Service (state, regional, national, or international level)
         - WEC Host Committee Chair or participation, etc.
         - Serving on an international board, task force, committee, special interest group, etc.
    4. Meeting Industry Professional Accomplishments
         - Awards/Professional Recognition and Significance
         - Professional designations
         - Public speaking engagements
         - Published articles or books
         - Certification/Continuing Professional Education
    5. Active membership in other industry organizations: PCMA, ASAE/OSAE, etc.
AWARD CATEGORIES:
The Leadership Award is presented to the volunteer whose efforts, initiatives, and creative ideas have resulted in significant contributions to the chapter.

The Rising Star Award is presented to the member who is currently new to the industry (less than 5 years of experience). He/She is someone who is dedicated to learning about the industry, continues to work on their education, a member of professional organizations such as MPI, innovative in their ideas and in their approach to their role and active in their community.

The Planner of the Year Award is presented to the Planner whose efforts, initiatives, and creative ideas have resulted in significant accomplishments in his/her career as well as contributions to the industry/community and can be self-nominated.

The Supplier of the Year Award is presented to the Supplier whose efforts, initiatives, and creative ideas have resulted in significant accomplishments in his/her career as well as contributions to the industry/community and can be self-nominated.
