2026 REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

The Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association Educational Foundation (FRLAEF) is pleased to announce funds are available to provide Mini Grants to Florida ProStart and HTM high schools.

ELIGIBILITY
  • ProStart Schools: 1) must currently teach the Foundations of Restaurant Management and Culinary Arts also knowns as the ProStart curriculum, and 2) must return signed paperwork to be a Premier or Full ProStart School to the FRLAEF
  • HTM Schools: 1) must currently teach the Hospitality & Tourism Management curriculum, and 2) complete the Fall HTM Survey
If a piece of equipment is requested, it should be something that will be used frequently throughout the year. The FRLAEF prefers not to fund curriculum, ServSafe, SafeStaff, printers, digital cameras, guest speakers, field trips and transportation. If any of these items are needed it is suggested you contact your local Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association Chapter. To assist you, the average Mini Grant award last year was approximately $1,000 per school.

4.Each item requested should be submitted in a separate online application. For example, if you need a mixer and blender, then complete two applications-one for the mixer and one for the blender.

Exception -- if you are requesting spatulas, hand tools, mixing bowls, etc. you can submit one application with the Item Requested titled Smallwares and then list the items you need.

If you are requesting more than one of the same item, you do not need to fill out separate applications. You simply need to list how many of the item you want. For example, ITEM REQUESTED: 3 Five-Quart KitchenAid Mixers

If you would like to request more than one item, click on Done and then you may begin a new application for your next submission. On subsequent applications, you may just list your name and school. You do not need to fill in the entire address block.
