Rural Provider Enhancement Grant |
Purpose
The South Carolina Office of Rural Health (SCORH) has partnered with the SC Center for Rural and Primary Healthcare to provide a funding opportunity for rural health providers to advance their practices, which includes, but is not limited to, modern technology and learning, computers, information technology (IT) updates, continuing education, and training, and/or portable medical devices.
Applications must include a description of items in which the funding will be utilized. Examples of items can include but are not limited to the following:
· Computers – Examples: desktops and laptops
· Information Technology – Examples: software to include Microsoft office and risk assessment tools
· Portable Medical Devices – Examples: remote patient monitoring, blood pressure machines, pulse oximeter, vital signs machines, AED
· Education and Training – Examples: PCMH-CCE Continuing Education, professional conferences, customer service training, value-based care training
· Environmental Safety – Examples: compliant vaccine refrigerator and exam tables (including reupholstery and covers)
· Quality Improvement Activities – Examples: PCMH accreditation, IHI training, Lean Six Sigma Training
Funding Award: Awardees may receive up to $5,000 per organization if the criteria and eligibility requirements are met.

Anticipated Timeline: Complete proposals for the Rural Enhancement Grant projects will be accepted by SCORH until 5:00pm EST on July 31, 2026. Incomplete or late proposals will not be considered.
* Award Notification: SCORH will review list of potential awardees and requested grant amounts. Notifications will be made by August 2026 of approvals or denials.
* Payment: will be made by the end of September 2026.
