Investigating the Use of Large Language Models in Academic Research and Coding (LLM-ARCo)

2.Introduction and Consent Declaration

This survey investigates how researchers use Large Language Models (LLMs) in scientific research. The survey consists of three parts and takes about 15 minutes to complete. Participants may enter a raffle to win one of ten €50 Amazon vouchers.

Eligibility:
You must be a researcher with at least a bachelor’s degree (including Master’s and PhD students) and have published at least one paper in English. If you do not meet these criteria, please do not continue.

Data collected:
  • Use of and familiarity with LLMs in research and coding
  • Research background (e.g., years of experience, publications)
  • Demographic information (e.g., age, gender, education)
Participation is voluntary. You may stop at any time before submitting, but submitted data cannot be deleted because the survey is anonymous.

Use of information:
Data will be used for research purposes, stored securely, and may be shared with research collaborators or published as anonymized data alongside scientific publications. Anonymous data may also be reused for future ethically approved research.
