This award honors professionals throughout Erie County who have displayed deep dedication to helping people recover from substance use disorders. This award will be offered for the 1st time through the Erie County Office of Drug & Alcohol Abuse/ Regional Recovery Hub at the Erie County Recovery Celebration on Sept 18th, 2026 at the Booker T. Washington Center from
11am to 2pm.
Nominees should demonstrate trauma-informed care, lived experience or strong empathy, active positive community engagement, and proven ethical support within Erie County, Pennsylvania. Nominees may include, but not limited to the following professions: Therapists/Counselors, Case Managers, CRSs/ CPSs, Doctors, Nurses, and more. Nominees may not have
any active legal or ethical issues pending. We prefer if people in or seeking recovery (or their family members, support, etc.) submit the nominations for this award. The nominator must share how the professional changed their recovery path in a positive way.
This award recognizes local professionals who go beyond basic job duties; celebrate trust, safety, and personal growth in recovery; while empowering people in or seeking recovery to share their personal stories of healing.
