Shaping Romsey's future together

Your town. Your say. Your future.
A Neighbourhood Plan is, once accepted, a legal planning document that says what a community wants from development, which is why your views are so important. This is intended for Romsey residents but you may take part if you live in the surrounding villages because we recognise that Romsey is likely to be your main hub.

Romsey is changing. New homes, new pressures on roads, green spaces and local facilities - and big decisions are being made right now about what gets built, where and how.

This is your chance to make sure those decisions reflect what you actually want.

The Romsey Town Council Neighbourhood Plan is a legally binding document that will shape how Romsey develops over the coming years. In our case it does not generally determine where new housing goes, that is for Test Valley Borough Council. However we can add our thoughts to those decisions, as well as how green spaces are protected, how people get around and what community facilities are prioritised. Once adopted, it carries real planning weight - but only if it reflects the views of the people who live here.

That's why your response matters.

This survey should take ten to fifteen minutes, but the plan it informs will shape Romsey for a decade. We want to hear from everyone - longstanding residents, newer arrivals, families, older people and especially younger residents whose future in this town is longest.

The more people who respond, the stronger our case for the things that matter most to you. We would like to encourage younger residents (5-19) to do the survey as well as adults.

Please complete the survey now — it closes on Sunday 10 May 2026

Please note that all information here is anonymous. Please do not add any personal details.

This survey is brought to you by the Romsey Town Council Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group.
Questions 1-4 are for FOR YOUNGER RESIDENTS (up to 19).
(Perhaps parents can help?)
It is perfectly acceptable for more than one person in a household to complete a survey separately, for example a teenager and a parent.
