Who should attend? This Diné Language Culture & Assessment Prep/Training is for Non-520-certified Diné Language Teachers wanting to pass their DLCA to receive their 520 certification in New Mexico. Or current 520-certified Navajo Language Teachers looking to earn professional development hours to go towards their renewal.

What?
  • The test prep/training will include 1 day of presentations and interactive workshops for registered attendees who are interested in taking an upcoming Diné Language & Culture Assessment (DLCA) that is administered by the Navajo Nation Office of Standards, Curriculum, and Assessment Development (OSCAD) to potentially obtain their 520 NALC certification in New Mexico.
  • Facilitators/tutors include Dr. Geneva Becenti, Dr. Audra Platero, Dr. Berlinda Begay, and our current mentor and apprentices.

  • Registration is required.
  • Interested individuals are also subject to a quick screening and assessment by our program to ensure you are prepared to attend these sessions and potentially take your test.
  • Attendance is required to be eligible to test with our program in June 2026.

Where? In-person at NISN Community Hall, Albuquerque, NM

When? Saturday, June 6th, 2026.
