Professional Community Representative and Vice Chair Self-Nomination Form

ISHLT is currently seeking self-nominations for 29 open volunteer positions:

Professional Community (PC) Representatives: Eight of ISHLT’s ten PC and the Early Career and Trainee Committee (ECTC) are seeking self-nominations for 19 open Representative positions on the Interdisciplinary Network Steering Committees and ECTC.

New Professional Community Vice Chair: Open for all ten PCs.

Selected candidates will be slated for elections to be held 2-16 October, 2026, for three-year terms commencing on 1 May, 2027.

Nominations for these opportunities will be accepted through Friday, 14 August at 11:59 p.m. EDT / Saturday, 15 August at 03:59 UTC.

About: Professional Community (PC) Representatives (19 open Positions)

Term length: 3 years (May 2027 – April 2030)
Time commitment: 8-12 virtual meetings yearly (PC, IDN, and/or ECTC); affiliated educational webinars as needed
Responsibilities: Understand the issues and interests of their Professional Community. Monitor and participate in online discussion forums to identify issues of relevance to their Professional Community. Plan educational webinars.

About: New Professional Community (PC) Vice Chair (10 open Positions)

Term length: 3 years*
Time commitment: 4 virtual PC leadership meetings yearly, 1 virtual Town Hall yearly, 1 in-person meeting as Chair, and affiliated educational webinars as needed
Responsibilities:
Vice Chair: Organize and complete programmatic tasks associated with educational webinars (minimum of 1) and town hall meeting.
Chair: Outreach, leadership development, and serves as a member of the core Leadership Advisory Forum (LAF) representation
Past Chair: Provide advice and continuity to the leadership of the group; chairs the nominations process.
