Richmond Highway BRT Station Design
Introduction

Richmond Highway Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) – also called “The One” – will bring faster, more reliable bus service along Richmond Highway, from the Huntington Metro Station to Fort Belvoir.

The future BRT route will have nine stations. From north to south, they are:
  • Huntington Metro
  • Kings Crossing
  • Beacon Hill
  • Lockheed
  • Gum Springs
  • Hybla Valley
  • Hyland Center
  • Woodlawn
  • Fort Belvoir

Fairfax County is undertaking a “Community Charm” project, which will add artwork to each of the BRT stations to reflect the history and character of the surrounding neighborhoods. In previous phases, local students along the corridor created artwork for some of the stations, and approved concepts will be included as one of the design options. Recently, professional artists were invited to submit additional designs for all stations. In total, three artwork options have been developed for each station.

We’d like your input! This survey asks you to review three artwork options for each station and rank them in order of your preference. Your feedback will be summarized and shared with the Richmond Highway BRT Executive Committee, who will make a final selection.

You can view larger, higher-resolution versions of the artwork by reviewing this Information Packet.

This survey will be open through May 8, 2026.
