Welcome and Overview

About This Survey
The City of Ferndale is working to better understand how natural hazards—like flooding, extreme heat, wildfire smoke, and wildfires—are affecting our community today, and how we can be more resilient to them in the future. We also want to understand our community’s concerns, ideas, and experiences with these hazards. Experiences can include things like suffering damage to homes or roads, health problems, disruptions to daily life, or changes to the environment.

We want to hear from you! Your feedback will help shape local policies and actions to strengthen Ferndale’s ability to prepare for, adapt to, and recover from these hazards. Your input will inform updates to the City’s Comprehensive Plan, including the new climate element required by Washington’s recently passed climate planning law (RCW 36.70A.095), as well as the Ferndale chapter of the Whatcom County Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan.
