River Church Community Independent Investigation Survey

1. Introduction and Scope

This confidential survey is a part of an independent investigation related to past allegations of behavioral misconduct by a former representative of River Church Community and a review of the responses by the church to such allegations. The purpose of this survey is to 1) collect any and all relevant information consistent with the scope of this investigation, and 2) assist TSG Investigators in identifying individuals who may have relevant information that we could contact in order to schedule follow-up interviews. Please know that the information provided by survey respondents within the survey itself may be used in the final assessment provided to River Church Community. However, the identity of survey respondents shall be kept confidential and will not be voluntarily disclosed to River Church Community, or to any third party except as required by law. TSG reports all reports of child sexual abuse to law enforcement as mandated by law.

Scope of the Investigation:

As part of this investigation, the investigative team will assess
(1) allegations of behavioral misconduct* by Brett Bymaster that are directly or indirectly related to RCC, (2) whether RCC had any knowledge of such allegations, and (3) if so, how RCC responded to such allegations. The investigative team will also assess RCC’s management of Brett Bymaster. Pertinent to the scope, the Investigative Team may review the current and/or past RCC personnel policies and practices as they relate to preventing and responding to misconduct as well as evaluate the environment and culture of RCC and how that culture may impact organizational response to sexual misconduct. (“RCC” refers to River Church Community).

*Behavioral misconduct includes, but is not limited to: sexual misconduct, spiritual abuse, emotional abuse, physical abuse, gender discrimination, clergy misconduct, etc.
